Our History

EcoTec Associates, LLC was incorporated in October 2015 with our principal office located in Topeka, Kansas. Satellite offices are located in Arlington, VA; Salt Lake City, UT and San Antonio, TX. EcoTec is a SBA, woman-owned small business.

What we can do for you

Environmental Compliance

Our team of professionals provide numerous types of environmental compliance assistance for Federal agencies, mainly the Department of Defense. Areas of expertise include: Air Quality, Solid Waste, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, Water Quality, Spill Plans, Emergency Plans, Natural and Cultural Resources, Noise and Pesticide Management.

MANAGEMENT

We provide environmental program managers, overall project and program management, and reach back assistance for the DoD.

AUDITING

We provide the full suite of environmental compliance auditing, including Environmental Management System (EMS) conformance (to the ISO 14001 standard if a separate EMS in not in place). We performed over 92 audits in 2016 for the DoD. We have completed ESOHCAMPs and EPASs for our DoD clients for over 20 years. We assist with compliance strategies for upcoming regulations, assess environmental compliance through the evaluation of current practices to the regulatory standard requirements, and develop corrective actions for potential shortfalls in the client’s procedures.

Policy and Plan Development

Our professionals have assisted the Air Force in the development of Environmental Management policy, Air Force Instructions, and playbooks to assist all levels of the Air Force with compliance. We have also developed numerous plans such as Hazardous Waste Management, Pesticide Management, Air Quality Management, Stormwater Management, Pollution Prevention, Noise Management, Hazardous Materials Management, Natural Resource and Cultural Resource Management, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures, EMS and Ground Safety. From policy development and technical writing to plan implementation, EcoTec has played a role. 

Other technical writings include items such as Commodity Market Analysis for the Air Force, Regulatory Reviews, Gap Analysis, and Standard Operating Procedures for other Federal agencies. 

Training

The professionals at EcoTec have over 35 years of environmental and safety training experience to the DoD. Our training capabilities range from webinars, conference and symposium training, to in-person, at the field level training. We train in both Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental and EMS areas. Our team has lead many training sessions for the Army, Air Force and the National Guard.
